TFC Flashback: Danny Dichio runs rampant against New England
The English forward was the driving force behind a big Toronto FC home win over the Revolution during the 2009 MLS season.
In this special flashback series for TFC Republic, we examine interesting moments in the history of Toronto FC.
In the latest instalment: With Toronto set to host New England this weekend, we look back to a 2009 MLS regular season game at BMO Field between the teams when ex-Reds forward Danny Dichio torched the Revolution.
Toronto FC broke out of its scoring slump on May 23, 2009, with a convincing 3-1 win over the New England Revolution, marking the first time the Canadian club bagged that many goals at BMO Field since the previous October.
In its six previous regular-season contests at home, Toronto scored just four times and was shut out twice, so this goal-fest was long overdue.
