Toronto FC keeping a very close eye on Michael Sullivan

Even though he only turned pro in March, TFC 2 midfielder Michael Sullivan has already made a big impression.

Sullivan, 22, was selected in the second round (39th overall) of the 2025 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC and took part in the team’s pre-season training camp before signing with TFC 2 last month. The midfielder from University of Pittsburgh has hit the ground running in MLS NEXT Pro, playing the full 90 minutes in each of the Young Reds’ first four games of the season and scoring his first career goal. He also earned a short-loan call up in March for Toronto's road game against the New York Red Bulls.

“It's been a whirlwind since [the MLS SuperDraft]. It's been a lot of go, go, go, and it's been a long time since I've been able to sit down just kind of process it all. But it's been fun,” Sullivan said ahead of TFC 2’s home opener on Friday.

It’s early days and far too soon to speculate as to when, or even if, Sullivan will make the jump to MLS with Toronto FC. But Sullivan has caught the attention of head coach Robin Fraser, and the club is closely monitoring his progress with TFC 2.
