TFC 2's Hassan Ayari looking to make the jump to MLS
In this 1-on-1 interview with TFC Republic, Ayari discusses his time with TFC 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, and his hopes for the future.
Hassan Ayari is still learning his craft, but Toronto FC is hoping his best days are ahead of him.
Ayari, a 22-year-old native of New York, signed with TFC 2 last April and went on to enjoy a successful debut campaign in MLS NEXT Pro, scoring six goals and tallying a pair of assists in 23 appearances for the Young Reds. Once Ayari’s first season with TFC 2 was in the books, coach Gianni Cimini issued the creative midfielder a specific challenge for the 2025 campaign.
“At the end of last year, the goal was very clear: You have to be one of the top attacking players,” Cimini said.
Ayari has just one assist through the first five games of 2025, but the season is still young, and he has plenty of time to live up to Cimini’s expectations in hopes of securing a first-team contract with Toronto FC.
