Reader mailbag: Why so many home games early on for TFC?

Robin Fraser isn't bothered by the fact that Toronto FC's schedule is so front-loaded with matches at BMO Field.

Reader mailbag: Why so many home games early on for TFC?

TFC Republic's reader mailbag column is where I answer questions from subscribers about Toronto FC and Canadian soccer in general.

I'll respond to the best queries submitted to me by TFC Republic readers, so feel free to drop me an email at jmo1897@gmail.com. You can also reach out to me via Twitter.

Here we go...

Do you have any idea how TFC ended up with eight home games in just over a month? From April 26 to May 31, Toronto has seven home regular season matches and one Canadian Championship game. That's almost half of all our home dates jammed into 18 per cent of the season. From a competitive point of view, wouldn't the team want more home games down the final stretch if for some reason they're in playoff contention? Does TFC get any say? Do they actively ask for this kind of schedule?

Jim raises an interesting point about Toronto FC's 2025 schedule.

TFC started the campaign with three consecutive road games and played away from BMO Field on four occasions through their opening five matches.
