Newcomer Henry Wingo brings championship pedigree to TFC

In new signing Henry Wingo, Toronto FC has secured a player with a proven track record of collecting European trophies.

Wingo, 28, spent the past four years with Budapest-based Ferencvárosi TC where he won four consecutive league titles, and a Hungarian Cup in 2022. Before that, the Seattle native won another league crown with Norwegian outfit Molde in 2019.

In case you lost track, that’s six trophies in five years for Wingo, who moved to Europe after beginning his career with Seattle Sounders where he played for three seasons with his hometown club starting in 2017.

TFC are hoping that the American defender can bring some of the championship pedigree to the pitch for them as they fight to secure their first playoff berth in four seasons.
