Random thoughts on TFC: Etienne Jr. proving to be a valuable asset
The Haitian winger has a new lease on life at Toronto FC and has been one of the team's most consistent performers this season.
Some random thoughts I had on Toronto FC following its Leagues Cup elimination earlier this week.
Marshall-Rutty stands to benefit from Montreal move
GM Jason Hernandez pulled off a major deal before Thursday’s MLS transfer deadline (for Canadian clubs) when he traded Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty to CF Montreal in exchange for up to $1.3 million in general allocation money (GAM) that he can use for future roster moves.
As part of the deal, TFC receives a guaranteed $850,000 in GAM – $450,000 in 2024 GAM and $400,000 2025 GAM – and up to an additional $450,000 in conditional GAM if certain performance-based metrics are met. Also, TFC retains a sell-on percentage in the event of a future permanent transfer of the winger.
