The Canadian women’s team remains on track at the Concacaf W Championship in Mexico after posting three clean sheet victories in the group stage.
Canada’s latest shutout win came in a 2-0 decision on a hot and muggy Monday night at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey, with goals by Jessie Fleming and Sophie Schmidt proving to be the difference.
For the second game in a row, Canada was made to work hard for a result against an opponent that defended in numbers and was committed to doing everything it could to frustrate the reigning Olympic champions.
