Canada vs. Haiti in World Cup qualifying: What you need to know
After cruising through the group stage, Canada is expected to be seriously tested for the first time when it plays Haiti in a two-game playoff for the right to advance to the final round of the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers.
Canada, No. 70 in the current FIFA world rankings, barely broke a sweat in recording four straight wins in the fist round, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 27-1. Haiti, ranked 83rd, had a pretty easy time, too - they topped their group ahead of Nicaragua with three wins and without conceding a single goal.
Canada is 7-2-2 all-time against Haiti, but the Haitians won the last meeting (more on that later).
Here’s what you need to know about Saturday’s game (5:00 p.m. ET) between Canada and Haiti at Stade Sylvio Cator in Port-au-Prince.
