CanMNT Talk: What to make of Canada's World Cup loss to Morocco?
Canada heads home from Qatar without a point after an uneven performance in its group stage finale against the Africans.
A 2-1 loss to Morocco on Thursday meant Canada bowed out of the FIFA World Cup without a single point to show for its efforts.
A dreadful opening 45 minutes saw Canada thoroughly outplayed and very fortunate to be only down by a goal going into halftime. Some very sloppy play by the Canadians and questionable tactics by coach John Herdman allowed Morocco, No. 22 in the current FIFA world rankings, to dominate 41st-ranked Canada.
But Herdman’s side rebounded with a spirited effort after the break, playing most of the second half on the front foot and making life very uncomfortable for their African opponents.
In the latest TFC Republic video blog, I break down Canada's performance against Morocco and outline what's going to be an important 2023 for the men's team.
