Canada vs. Panama in Nations League: What you need to know
The Canadian men's team's quest for its first trophy in 23 years continues when it faces Panama in Thursday’s Concacaf Nations League semifinals.
The Canadian men's team is on the cusp of winning its first major trophy since hoisting the Concacaf Gold Cup back in 2000.
Having reached the final four of the 2022-23 Concacaf Nations League, a possible showdown in the finals against either the United States or Mexico looms for John Herdman's side. But first they face a tricky semifinal contest vs. Panama who won the previous encounter between the nations.
“We’re very close. You can feel the excitement. We’ve earned the right to be here. This year is about pushing to lift a trophy and pushing to allow our fans to feel that experience with us… Players are so dialled in, they want that trophy," Herdman said when he announced his 23-man roster last week.
Here’s what you need to know about Thursday's game (7:00 p.m. ET/OneSoccer) between Canada and Panama at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
