CanMNT Talk: Canada tops Concacaf qualifying group
In the latest video blog, I break down Canada's loss in Panama, and what it means for Friday's World Cup draw in Doha.
Canada dropped a 1-0 decision to Panama on Wednesday in its finale of the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers, suffering only the second loss of its entire 20-match campaign.
Despite the loss, the Canadians still finished first in the table ahead of traditional power houses Mexico and the United States.
“For us, we’ll learn from this. But we’re still going to celebrate - that’s one thing we’re going to do tonight. Twenty games, and we’re off to Qatar. No. 1 in Concacaf, and there’s more to come,” coach John Herdman told reporters after the game.
