Canada at Arnold Clark Cup: Breaking down Priestman's roster
Canada will face three of the top teams in the world - England, Spain and Germany - and the inaugural Arnold Clark Cup this month.
This is shaping up to be a hugely important year for the Canadian women’s team.
Instead of resting on its laurels, the Olympic champions will compete at this summer’s Concacaf Championship in Mexico where berths for the 2023 World Cup, the 2024 Gold Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics are at stake.
To that end, Canada will test itself against three of the top teams in the world - England, Spain and Germany - and the inaugural Arnold Clark Cup tournament, scheduled from Feb. 17-23 in three English cities.
“If you really want to put yourself out there then you enter this tournament. We want to be competing with the best continuously. The safe thing to do would be to go play some weaker opposition. But we want to keep moving forward,” Priestman said last week.
