Canada goes into final round of Concacaf qualifiers without Davies
John Herdman's side will be without the Bayern Munich star as he continues to recover from a heart condition.
Alphonso Davies has recently returned to the training pitch, but the Bayern Munich star still isn’t ready for game action.
As a result, Davies was not named to Canada’s 25-man roster by coach John Herdman on Sunday for this month’s slate of Concacaf World Cup qualifying matches.
Davies has been sidelined for both club and country since January when he was diagnosed with myocarditis, a mild heart condition, following a bout of COVID. Davies returned to training earlier this week, but Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann noted that Davies is at least three weeks away from returning, which rules him out for Canada’s upcoming matches.
