Despite TFC 2 not making the playoffs for a second straight year, there were some positives from the Young Reds in their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.
Coach Gianni Cimini successfully integrated a lot of new signings (including Ythallo, Mark Fisher, Charlie Sharp, Charlie Staniland and Hassan Ayari), while also giving plenty of opportunities to youth academy players (most notably defender Richard Chukwu and midfielder Andrei Dumitru) so that they could continue in their development.
Captain Julian Altobelli's breakout campaign, and forward Charlie Sharp and defender Nathaniel Edwards graduated to the senior team.
Those stories helped ease the pain of a season that saw TFC 2 finish 12th out of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference, four spots and eight points out of a playoff berth.
