Media reports had linked Federico Bernardeschi with transfer moves to several Serie A clubs for the past several weeks. It seemed inevitable that he was going to leave as several sources told TFC Republic that he was eager to return to Italy.
But when the European transfer window closed on Feb. 2, Bernardeschi ended up staying at Toronto FC as no deal materialized.
