Canada vs. Chinese Taipei at Pinatar Cup: What you need to know
Thus far, the Canadian women's team hasn't broken out as an attacking threat under new coach Casey Stoney.
Canada has earned a draw and win in its opening two matches at the Pinatar Cup while only scoring three goals. The lack of offensive production shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, as goals were often at a premium for Canada under the past several coaches.
That's something that Stoney is keen to address.
"We've got a lot of forwards that are capable of scoring goals. [But] we've got to get them in the right areas. We've got to get the right service. It's how we build the play and how we get in there. And we are obviously trying to play with more attackers up against their back line. We need to be better in transition moments so that we don't get exposed. But I think it's that final action now, the final decision that will enable us to score more goals," Stoney said.
