Charlie Sharp: 'I want to prove to TFC that I can do more'
Having earned a very small taste of MLS action in 2024, Toronto FC forward Charlie Sharp is hungry for much more this season.
Sharp, 23, made his debut for the Reds last spring while on a short-term loan from TFC 2 when he came off the bench in a 2-0 loss away to Nashville SC. A second substitute appearance followed in the summer during another loan in a 1-0 road win over the Houston Dynamo.
Although Sharp signed a first team contract last September, he never saw the pitch again for Toronto FC the remainder of the season. But he’s hoping the two brief appearances off the bench totalling 25 minutes were just the beginning for him, with more opportunities to prove himself during the 2025 MLS season.
“Last year, that was one of my goals, to make my MLS debut. And I was able to do that, and I was super, super happy and grateful to be able to do that. But then after the first one, it just really made me hungrier and pushed me to strive for more,” Sharp told TFC Republic.
