You have to applaud Jason Hernandez's candour in admitting that TFC have to do a much better job of fostering young players.

What is the freaking holdup with regards to new player signings by Toronto FC?
It's been a very quiet off-season for Toronto FC, as the only roster addition it has made ahead of the 2025 MLS campaign was the acquisition of Canadian winger Theo Corbeanu on loan from Spanish club Granada CF.
The lack of movement is rather curious considering Toronto finished the 2024 MLS season in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, had the fourth-worst attack (40 goals) in the league, and conceded 61 times. What's more, Prince Owusu was let go and the Reds' top scorer from last season has yet to be replaced.
