AFC Toronto adds Finnish goalkeeper Sofia Manner

The former Orlando Pride shot stopper is the latest player to migrate to the NSL from south of the border.

AFC Toronto adds Finnish goalkeeper Sofia Manner

 Players continue to join the Northern Super League from the south of the border. 

AFC Toronto on Tuesday announced the signing of Finnish goalkeeper Sofia Manner from the reigning NWSL champions Orlando Pride for an undisclosed fee. 

Manner is the ninth player on Toronto’s roster, joining Canadian forwards Jade Kovacevic and Leah Pais, Canadian defenders Emma Regan and Kaela Hansen, American defender Croix Soto, Saint Kitts and Nevis midfielder Cloey Uddenberg, Japan’s Aoi Kizaki and South Korea international Hong Hye-ji. 

Manner is the second member of Toronto’s squad to come from an NWSL team. Soto previously played for the Houston Dash and Kansas City Current.
