Toronto FC re-signs midfielder Alonso Coello to a new contract through 2027 with a club option for 2028.
Quick analysis: This one was a no-brainer.
Coello, a 25-year-old native of Madrid, was going to be out of contract at the end of this season after TFC picked up his option at the conclusion of the 2024 MLS campaign. Rather than wait until the end of this year to enter into negotiations, the club has already locked up one of its most promising and consistent players who figures to be a stalwart in the Reds' midfield core for years to come.
