The Jermain Defoe era at Toronto FC was officially over, and a new era had begun.
TFC announced on Jan. 16, 2015 that they reached a transfer agreement with Sunderland for Jozy Altidore. The Reds also traded Defoe to the English Premier League club as part of the deal.
