AFC Toronto adds Canadian international Victoria Pickett

AFC Toronto has added another Canadian international to its roster ahead of the inaugural Northern Super League season.

The club announced on Friday it has acquired veteran midfielder Victoria Pickett on a season-long loan from the North Carolina Courage of the U.S.-based National Women's Soccer League for an undisclosed fee.

Pickett spent the past two seasons with North Carolina where she played in 29 regular-season games and eight cup matches.

The lone deal represents a homecoming of sorts for Pickett, a 28-year-old from Barrie, Ont., who played NCAA soccer for the University of Wisconsin and has spent her entire professional career playing in the United States.
