TORONTO – There appears to be some life within Toronto FC after all.
With his team on the brink of extending its terrible slump, Deandre Kerr came off the bench to lift TFC to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday at BMO Field.
Kerr had a hand in forcing the own-goal that tied the game before netting the winner four minutes later.
Toronto (8-13-3) snapped a seven-match losing streak and a 10-game winless skid in all competitions with this result. Saturday’s win also moved TFC from ninth to eighth in the Eastern Conference with 10 matches left in the regular season.
