Toronto FC vs. Philadelphia Union: 3 takeaways
"We needed [this] badly, more than anything. ... This was a must win to start climbing again," Deandre Kerr said after Saturday's win.
A come-from-behind 2-1 home win over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday helped Toronto FC temporarily get back on track and provide some hope that it can make a late season push for a playoff spot.
TFC entered this weekend mired in a six-match losing slump and a nine-game winless skid in all competitions. The Reds ended both streaks and climbed up one spot to eighth in the Eastern Conference with their first win since May 21.
"Yeah, we needed [the win] badly, more than anything. We kind of felt like we hit rock bottom midweek. So, this was a must win to start climbing again," forward Deandre Kerr said.
Here are my three major takeaways from Saturday's contest.
