TFC Talk: Reds catch a break in avoiding injured Lionel Messi
Fresh off a win over the Philadelphia Union on the weekend, Toronto FC will try to make it two in a row when it visits Inter Miami on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV).
Miami (14-4-5) currently sits second in the Eastern Conference, six spots and 20 points above Toronto. The Florida-based club has suffered just two defeats in its last 17 league games, but is coming off a humiliating 6-1 defeat to FC Cincinnati on July 6.
With 51 goals in 23 games, the Herons boast the best attack in MLS. Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez lead the way with 12 goals apiece, or 47 per cent of Miami's offensive output this season. Messi also has a team-high 13 assists, but he's ruled out of the match vs. Toronto due to injury.
TFC Republic spoke to reporter Alex Windley of The Heron's Nest about Wednesday's game, Miami's season so far, and much more.
