Toronto FC vs. Orlando City: What you need to know
TFC will attempt to end a four-match losing streak and sweep their season series with Orlando City on Wednesday at BMO Field.
Toronto FC isn't pushing the panic button, but there's no question that the team is moving in the wrong direction.
A demoralizing 2-1 road loss to Atlanta United last weekend extended TFC's losing streak to four games. The club is also winless in seven and hasn't earned a victory in league play since a 5-1 defeat of CF Montreal on May 18.
A month ago the Reds were challenging for a top four spot in the Eastern Conference. Today, Toronto (7-11-3) is clinging to eighth place and one of two wildcard playoff berths on offer in the East. The Reds run the risk of dropping further down the table in a midweek home game vs. Orlando City.
"It'll be a tough match but this is what we need. We need a game where our best have to be at their best to win a football match. And you do against this Orlando team," coach John Herdman said this week.
Here’s what you need to know about Saturday's match between Toronto and Orlando at BMO Field (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV & TSN).
