TFC Talk: Plenty of work to do for Reds going into the break
In the latest video blog, we discuss Toronto FC's big road win vs. Montreal and the current state of the club going into the MLS break.
A season sweep of CF Montreal courtesy of a 1-0 road win on the weekend means Toronto FC heads into the MLS break on a positive note.
It was a professional performance from TFC, who benefitted from the return of Canadian international Richie Laryea. The Reds are slowly getting back to full fitness and the recent signing of defender Henry Wingo should help bolster the back line.
But the win at Stade Saputo shouldn't disguise the fact that TFC remains a work in progress, or that it is clinging to the second-last playoff berth in the Eastern conference with several teams breathing down their neck. It's imperative that the Reds make more roster moves before the secondary transfer window closes on Aug. 8 in order to boost its chances of qualifying for the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
In the latest TFC Republic video blog, I offer my view on the team's performance against Montreal and discuss the current state of the club going into the MLS break.
