Canada Soccer Talk: Cheating scandal envelops national teams
It's been an interesting week for Canadian soccer as a cheating scandal has cast a dark shadow over Canada Soccer, and the Canadian men's and women's teams.
Canadian women's coach Bev Priestman has been set home from the Paris Olympics after two members of her coaching staff were implicated for spying on the New Zealand team's practices using a drone ahead of their game on Thursday.
According to a TSN report, such usage of drones has been going on at Canada Soccer for several years by both the men's and women's teams.
Kevin Blue, Canada Soccer CEO and General Secretary, talked to reporters via a Zoom call on Friday morning, answering questions on a variety of topics surrounding this cheating scandal, including Priestman's future and why he isn't considering withdrawing the women's team from the Paris Olympics.
