Toronto FC continues losing slide with latest home loss
TFC have lost five in a row and are winless in eight following Wednesday’s defeat to Orlando City.
- Toronto FC 1 (Etienne Jr. 5’), Orlando City 2 (Ojeda 27’; Gomis OG 44’)
- "This has to be a turning point for the club tonight," Herdman says
- Reds haven’t won since May 21 in the Canadian Championship
TORONTO – Is it okay to worry now?
John Herdman saw the glass as half full earlier this week when speaking to reporters, suggesting that Toronto FC’s recent losing skid wasn’t as bad as it appeared on the surface and that better times were just around the corner.
But the Reds continue to be in a free fall following a lacklustre performance in a 2-1 loss to Orlando City on a warm Wednesday night at BMO Field.
Derrick Etienne Jr. scored for Toronto (7-12-3) who has now lost five in a row, is winless in eight and has just one victory in its last 11 MLS games. TFC’s previous victory came in an 8-1 decision over semi-pro side CS Saint-Laurent in the Canadian Championship on May 21. Their last league win was a 5-1 beatdown of CF Montreal on May 18.
