The Canadians rebounded from a heavy defeat to the Netherlands by more than holding their own against the French on Sunday.
After first meeting at the 1986 FIFA World Cup, the teams met for the second time and once again the Canadians made life difficult for the French in a 0-0 draw in an international friendly at Bordeaux's Matmut Atlantique.
Canada went toe-to-toe with the French, defending with aplomb, getting some outstanding goalkeeping from Maxime Crépeau and showing an exemplary work rate. Canada frustrated France so much that the hosts brought Kylian Mbappé off the bench in the 74th minute to try to break the deadlock.
