Several TFC players playing for their futures at the club
How a number of Toronto FC squad members perform in the second half of the season will determine their fates with the team.
John Herdman didn’t hold back in the aftermath of Toronto FC’s humbling 4-1 home loss to the Chicago Fire on June 15.
Speaking to reporters a few days after the game, Herdman let it be known that the many players who are out of contact at the end of this season have to prove themselves if they want to stick around.
“People are playing for the future, so it's important to know we can't get comfortable,” Herdman stated.
He later added: “There's a big opportunity to evaluate, and this is what I’m saying: The players are really pushing to secure that opportunity to be part of a championship team in the future.”
