TFC's Kevin Long: 'I want to get this club back to winning ways'

Toronto FC was in a desperate need of reinforcements at the back following a disastrous 2023 MLS season.

TFC had the second worst defensive record last year with 59 goals against, which was a big reason why it finished bottom of the table.

Enter Kevin Long. The Irish international and veteran centre back signed with the Reds in February following a transfer move from Birmingham City of the English Championship.

In a short period of time Long has transformed Toronto's back line into a stable defensive unit. The Reds recorded four clean sheets through their opening five games and have already earned six shutouts – the same number they had all last year.
