CanWNT's Buchanan gears up for an epic French title race finish
Jonathan David isn’t the only high-profile Canadian player involved in a hotly-contested title race in France. So is Canadian women’s team defender Kadeisha Buchanan.
It’s down to the wire in Ligue 1 with first-place Lille OSC, featuring Canadian forward Jonathan David, leading Paris Saint-Germain by a single point headed into the final matchday of the season on Sunday.
Of course, David isn’t the only high-profile Canadian player involved in a hotly-contested title race in France, as Canadian women’s team defender Kadeisha Buchanan has her eye on winning a fifth consecutive Division 1 Féminine championship with Olympique Lyonnais Féminin.
Paris Saint-Germain Féminine, which features Canadians Ashley Lawrence and Jordyn Huitema, currently sits atop the standings of the French league with a one-point advantage over Lyon. Both clubs have three games left in the campaign, including Lyon paying a visit to Bordeaux and PSG playing away to Stade Reims on Friday. Assuming both teams win those games, the title will likely be decided on May 30 when Lyon hosts PSG in the penultimate week of the season.
