Winless Toronto FC has to deal with international absences
Robin Fraser's managerial acumen will be tested this weekend as he'll be missing three players who are away on national team duty.

Games against the New York Red Bulls are hard enough for Toronto FC.
TFC were swept in the 2024 season series and are winless in their previous 11 contests (with eight losses) against their Eastern Conference rivals. Road victories against the Red Bulls have been scarce for Toronto, who sports a 2-17-2 all-time away record against New York.
But now TFC (0-3-1) have to once again go into the belly of the beast at Sports Illustrated Stadium when they face the Red Bulls on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV). And they have to do it without at three key players who’ll be away on international duty.
Captain Jonathan Osorio was included in Jesse Marsch’s 23-man squad for this week's Concacaf Nations League matches in Los Angeles. Canada plays Mexico on Thursday and then meets either the United States or Panama in the final or third-place game on Sunday, which means Osorio won’t make the trip to New York with TFC.
