CanMNT Talk: Where does Mauro Biello's side go from here?
Canada is off to the 2024 Copa América.
Canada defeated Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 on Saturday at Toyota Park in Frisco, Texas courtesy of goals from Cyle Larin and Jacob Shaffelburg and a clean sheet from Maxime Crépeau. With the victory in this one-game playoff, the Canadians clinched a berth for the Copa América which will take place in the United States from June 20 to July 14.
Ranked No. 50 in the world, Canada will compete in Group A at the Copa América against No. 1 Argentina (June 20 in Atlanta), No. 33 Peru (June 25 in Kansas City) and No. 42 Chile (June 29 in Orlando). The Canada-Argentina contest is the opening match of the 16-nation tournament.
Some big questions and doubts linger over this Canadian side even after it booked its spot at the Copa América.
In the latest TFC Republic video blog, I examine where the Canadian men's team goes from here.
