TFC Talk: Attacking issues exposed in Orlando loss

Toronto FC came out on the wrong end of a 4-2 decision away to Orlando City on Saturday in a game that revealed some of the club's attacking problems.

TFC entered the match without a viable starting option at the forward position – Ola Brynhildsen hadn't played since December while Deandre Kerr is coming off a disappointing 2024 season. As a result, Federico Bernardeschi and Theo Corbeanu operated out wide rather than as traditional forwards against Orlando.

Not playing with a No. 9 meant TFC didn’t have someone to play into in and around Orlando's penalty area, nor did they have a main reference point up top, and the attack sputtered as a result.

TFC Republic spoke to fellow Toronto FC beat reporter James Grossi, who also operates the Unattached FC website, about the Reds' performance in Florida, the recent roster moves involving Lazar Stefanovic and Adam Pearlman, and much more.
