Canada vs. United States at Concacaf Gold Cup: What you need to know
In order to qualify for the final, Canada must first get past its toughest rival in Wednesday's match in San Diego.
Canada and the United States, the two best women's teams in North America, will square off this week at the Concacaf W Gold Cup.
But rather than facing each other in the championship match, the tournament's top two seeds will do battle in the semifinals after the Americans slipped up in the group stage and disrupted the bracket for the knockout round.
While the Stars and Stripes have won six of the last seven meetings between the teams, Canada enters this match with a great deal of momentum on the back of four shutout wins at the Gold Cup.
Here’s what you need to know about Wednesday's match between Canada and the U.S. at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego (10:15 p.m. ET/OneSoccer).
