Toronto FC vs. CS Saint-Laurent: What you need to know
TFC will be looking to finish off the League1 Quebec champions in order to advance to the Canadian Championship semifinals.
Toronto FC is on the verge of reaching the final four of the 2024 Canadian Championship. All it has to do is complete the job against League1 Quebec side CS Saint-Laurent in the second leg of the quarter-finals.
TFC are in firm command of this two-legged, aggregate series following a 3-0 win over the semi-professional club in the opener on May 8. That means the Reds only need a draw in the return match to advance to the semifinals. Even a 1-0 or 2-0 loss would be good enough to see them move on to the next round.
"Having that lead doesn't change too much. We have certain standards that we want to drive with the ball, without the ball. ... We have a pretty good lead on aggregate but the biggest thing and the thing that we've talked about especially in a game like this is staying professional, driving our standards," TFC defender Aimé Mabika said.
