Toronto FC vs. Philadelphia Union: What you need to know
TFC faces two tough road games in the span of four days starting with Wednesday's contest in Philadelphia.
This has been a hectic month for Toronto FC as it has already played seven times across two competitions since the beginning of May.
With this in mind, it'll be interesting to see how TFC (7-7-1) navigates two road games this week, starting with their contest against the Philadelphia Union. Squad rotation doesn't appear to be an option for Toronto, with coach John Herdman admitting he'll have to push some of his players to their physical limits.
"I think we're coming into this two-game stretch where some of them are going to ‘red line.’ There's no doubt. But we do have a bit of a safety net at the end of this in that there is a group of players that will get a good recovery window, and we'll give them that recovery window mentally, emotionally, physically," Herdman said this week.
