Toronto FC vs. CS Saint-Laurent: What you need to know
Toronto FC has already dispatched one semi-professional team in the 2024 Canadian Championship. Now another one stands in its way of advancing to the semifinals.
TFC smashed reigning League1 Ontario champions Simcoe County Rovers 5-0 at BMO Field earlier this month in the first round to advance to the quarter-finals. Waiting for Toronto in the final eight is CS Saint-Laurent, last year's League1 Quebec champions, who'll be looking to pull off another upset in this competition when it hosts the opener of this two-legged aggregate quarter-final series.
“Sometimes it can be tough; underestimating the opposition is never what you want to do, but with our mindset in the squad we have, I don’t think that’s really something we think about. We’re a team that’s always going to be ready for any competition or any game or whatever rank of the team we play. We’re going to be ready and definitely give full force and full steam ahead,” TFC goalkeeper Luka Gavran said.
Here’s what you need to know about Wednesday's contest between Toronto and CS Saint-Laurent at Montreal's Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard (7:00 p.m. ET/OneSoccer).
