The behind-the-scenes drama that played a big role in derailing Toronto FC's 2023 MLS season – and led to the eventual hiring of John Herdman – has been well documented over the past few months by TFC Republic and other media outlets. Part of former captain Michael Bradley's formal goodbye before retirement included him taking a not-so-veiled shot at Italian DPs Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi, who actively worked and pushed towards Bob Bradley getting fired.
Now another former player has opened up at what went on with the Reds this year behind closed doors. Former midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye, who was traded to the New England Revolution in the summer, spoke at length to TFC Republic last week on a variety of subjects, including his recall into the Canadian men's team after eight months.
