Replacing Michael Bradley won't be easy for Toronto FC
There must be a change in how TFC finds inspiration. The old leadership model can't work anymore because Bradley is gone.
The flood of plaudits and praise that Michael Bradley received after he announced his retirement last month came from all corners.
Current teammates and coaches, former colleagues and opponents alike either publicly congratulated Bradley on his marvellous career for both club and country, or they privately contacted him to wish him well in the next chapter of his life.
But of all those who had a kind word to say about the former Toronto FC captain, perhaps new coach John Herdman said it best.
“This is a genuine legend that's going to leave the club and what I've learned about him is [he’s] an intense guy. He absolutely cares. He really does care,” Herdman said.
