Which DP model will TFC choose for the 2025 MLS season?
Jason Hernandez has a lot on his plate at the moment with Toronto FC.
This is shaping up to be one of the most important off-seasons in TFC’s history – yes, I know, you’ve heard that line before, but it’s still true – and the club’s GM has a lot of work to do ahead of the 2025 MLS campaign.
Finding a new No. 9 to bolster the attack is one of Hernandez’s top priorities after Toronto scored just 40 goals in 2024 (tied for third-worst in the Eastern Conference). He also needs to bring in reinforcements to strengthen a defence that conceded 61 goals this year (compared to 59 goals against in 2023). And there’s still the small matter of figuring out whether Lorenzo Insigne’s long-term future lies with the Reds or elsewhere.
But one of the more crucial decisions that Hernandez has to make pertains to which official roster-building model Toronto FC must choose ahead of next season.
