Toronto FC in 2024: Who was worth their salary cap hit?

Toronto FC showed some improvement in 2024, but that was hardly an accomplishment considering last season was the worst in franchise history

TFC (11-19-4, 37 points) won almost three times as many games and nearly doubled their points total compared to 2023 when they finished dead last in the MLS table. But the progress made by the Red was inconsequential as they failed to qualify for the playoffs for a fourth straight year.

In a salary cap league such as MLS, it's especially important that players provide value for their cap hit. That was a major problem for TFC in 2024. Too many players didn't.
