TFC Talk: Canadian call ups a boost for Reds' youngsters
Toronto FC beat reporter James Grossi offers his views on the six TFC players who were called into Canada's pre-training camp.
Six members of Toronto FC took part in a pre-training camp this week with the Canadian men's team ahead of its Concacaf Nations League quarter-final vs. Suriname.
Among the 19 North American-based players invited to the camp that was held in Toronto were TFC captain Jonathan Osorio and teammates Richie Laryea, Deandre Kerr, Kobe Franklin and Adam Pearlman. TFC 2 defender Richard Chukwu was also called into the camp.
Only Osorio and Laryea were named to coach Jesse Marsch's official roster for the two-legged quarter-finals which will see Canada play away to Suriname on Nov. 15 before hosting its Concacaf rival four days later at BMO Field. Still, it was a valuable experience for TFC's youngsters to be involved with the national team this week.
TFC Republic spoke to fellow Toronto FC beat reporter James Grossi, who also operates the Unattached FC website, to get his take on TFC players' involvement in this special camp.
