3 big questions facing Canada ahead of Panama friendly
The Canadian men's team returns to action this month when it hosts Panama in an international friendly.
Next Tuesday's match (7:30 p.m. ET/OneSoccer) at Toronto's BMO Field will be the team's first home contest since Jesse Marsch was hired as coach in May. Les Rouges' previous match on Canadian soil came in a 3-2 loss to Jamaica on Nov. 21, 2023 in the Concacaf Nations League.
A lot has happened since that defeat to the Reggae Boyz, most notably Canada reaching the semifinals of this summer's Copa América. The team has also climbed to No. 38 in the latest FIFA world rankings and is poised to compete in the two-legged quarter-finals of the 2024-25 Concacaf Nations League in November.
But Canada can't afford to look past Panama. Here are three big questions facing the Canadians ahead of Tuesday's tilt against Los Canaleros.
