CanMNT Talk: Jesse Marsch continues to give youth a chance
The Canadian head coach has called up several youngsters into his latest camp as he looks to build up the team's depth.
Canadian men's team coach Jesse Marsch continues to show his faith in young players.
On Wednesday, Marsch named his 26-man roster for Canada's friendly vs. Panama on Oct. 15 at Toronto's BMO Field. Included in his squad were former Canadian youth internationals Kwasi Poku (21), and Santiago López and defender Jamie Knight-Lebel (both 19) who have earned their first call ups to the senior team.
Seventeen of the 26 players called into the Canada camp are 25 or younger, including 18-year-old Fulham defender Luc de Fougerolles who is the youngest member of the team.
Marsch talked to reporters via a Zoom call on Wednesday afternoon, answering questions on a variety of topics, including his decision to call up so many young players, the makeup his latest roster, and much more.
