TFC Talk: Do or die time for Reds in rubber match vs. New York
Winless in four games in all competitions, Toronto FC badly needs three points when it hosts the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET/Apple TV & TSN) in order to strengthen its hold on a playoff berth.
New York (10-7-14) sits sixth in the Eastern Conference, two places and seven points above Toronto (11-17-4). The Red Bulls have already clinched a playoff spot, but are winless in their last six league matches and have just one victory in 11 outings. New York is also coming off of a humbling 5-1 home loss to New York City FC on the weekend.
The Red Bulls earned a 3-0 league win over TFC at home on June 22, but Toronto exacted a measure of revenge when it defeated New York in the group stage of the Leagues Cup on July 28 at BMO Field.
TFC Republic spoke to reporter Michael Battista of New York Sports Nation about Wednesday's game and much more.
