Footy Prime: TFC simply 'not good enough' when it matters

Toronto FC coach John Herdman didn't hold back following his team's humbling 4-1 home loss to the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday, a result that pushes his side to the brink of elimination in the MLS playoff race.

"No excuses, just not good enough. Not good enough tactically, not good enough with the set up and not good enough on the pitch. It wasn’t until the second half [that] I think the team really started to show up. We needed to go a goal down before we woke up. It was almost like we were sleepwalking," Herdman said.

Captain Jonathan Osorio echoed his coach's sentiments: "I think games are not going to go as perfect as you plan. Never. We kind of get rattled when the game presents a different picture than what we trained for or expected."

Host James Sharman and his Footy Prime cohorts welcomed TFC Republic's John Molinaro to chat about Toronto's loss to New York, Lorenzo Insigne's ongoing injury woes, and much more.

Also taking part in an MLS roundtable discussion were Global BC sports reporter Asa Rehman and Olivier Brett of RDS.
