It all came to an end for Toronto FC on Saturday.
A 1-0 home loss to Inter Miami coupled with D.C. United's 2-1 road win over the New England Revolution officially eliminated TFC from playoff contention and extended their post-season drought to four consecutive years.
The defeat to Miami meant the Reds finished their campaign mired in a six-game winless skid and with just a single win in their final eight contests across all competitions.
"It just hasn't been good enough in the last four months, and we'll have to look hard at ourselves. We were in a playoff fight but I don't think we had enough punch in that fight," coach John Herdman lamented.
